Item Girls Spice It Up :Kashmera Shah

The latest on the cat fight between Rakhi Sawant and Kashmera Shah is that they have buried the hatchet. Their problems had begun when Kashmera commented on Rakhi's silicone implants, or, rather, the lack of them.

According to a source, the two item girls hugged each other a few times, during the shoot of 'Nach Baliye 3', where both are contestants. Apparently, Rakhi's mother, who was present at the shoot, chatted up Kashmera too, praising her performance.

However, another source believes that there is no truce between the two. Rakhi and Abhishek Awasthi scored high in the last round, and Kashmera and Krushna scored low.

Rakhi seemed quite excited when Kash-Krush could not live up to their near-perfect performance the previous week. "If they have both patched up, then why would Rakhi cheer when Kashmera scored less?" the source points out.

We wonder why. Whatever the reason, the publicity is not doing either them or the show any harm.

I am single and want to be in Love: Vidya Balan

First it was John Abraham during Salaam-e-Ishq. Now it's Akshay Kumar.

Vidya Balan has been shooting two back-to-back films with the Kumar. "And we had ourselves a ball in Jaipur and Australia. That's where we shot Priyadarshan's Bhul Bulaiya and Sajid Khan's Hey Baby."

Vidya has just returned after four months of hectic shooting. And she can't help chuckling at the memory. "Akshay is a major prankster. I had to be on tenterhooks all through the two schedules. One never knew what Akshay was up to.

My one ambition in life is to get even with him for all the pranks he has played with me. Shooting has seldom been so much fun. I didn't even realize how these two long schedules for two completely contrasting films passed by."

Vidya is aware that tongues will start wagging all over again. "I'm quite prepared for stories to filter back. I've gone through this before. During Salaam-e-Ishq they linked me with John Abraham for the same reason. Because people saw us having so much fun together. Now there'll be gossip because Akshay and I had ourselves a great time."

Remind her that it's only healthy for a young attractive single girl like her to be linked with co-stars and Vidya sighs, "Yes, I'm young and single and most certainly looking forward to being in love.

Unfortunately both John and Akshay are attached. And that creates an embarrassment more for them than me. So that's that…Come to think of it, where are the eligible single guys in our industry? I'll have to look elsewhere."

I am not okay with Kissing: Rimi Sen

The Bengali damsel still has a long way to go. Rimi Sen has recently broken ties with Priyadarshan and comedies, and thinks her last movie, 'Hat Trick', was excellent, despite its fate at the box office. These days she is excited about her recent film 'Johnny Gaddaar'. While we wait to watch how she will fare in this one, we chat her up.

Q.: What are you looking forward to in 'Johnny Gaddaar'?
A.: This is the first time that I have acted in a genre that is not comedy. I think if the director is good, then everything goes well. I did this film for Shriram ji. I have seen his last film, 'Ek Haseena Thi', and I was spell bound by the way he presented Saif and Urmila. Q.: Tell us about your character in this film.
A.: Shriramji has simply forbidden me to say anything about my role. All I can tell you is that I'm playing a simple girl named Mini, someone who wants to live life happily. The role required me to wear clothes styled from the 70s – wrap around skirt, simple churidars, etc. I am not glamorous in the film I look good. My character has many shades.via www.santabanta.com

Hot BOMB in "AGGAR" Udita Goswami

Cast- Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Udita Goswami, Nauheed Cyrusi, Sophie Chaudhary
Director- Anant Mahadevan

Anant Mahadevan delves into the thriller territory and delivers yet another average product after Aksar, in the form of Aggar. On the lines of Murder, Zeher and The Train (producers Shyam and Narendra Bajaj’s previous film), Aggar is a story of love, lust, betrayal, murder laced with a twist in the tale.

Aryan (Tusshar Kapoor) is mentally wrecked and ends up in an asylum after he accidentally murders his unfaithful girlfriend (Sophie Chaudhary) in a fit of rage. Enter Dr Aditya Merchant (Shreyas Talpade) a psychiatrist with a known track record of successful cases, who takes it on him to make him alright again. He manages to get his patient out of the sanatorium and confidently tells him that he will cure him in a few months’ time. In just a matter of a few days, Aryan manages to impress Ritu (Nauheed Cyrusi) who works under Jahnvi (Udita Goswami), a rich, seductive and stylish woman. On the other hand the doctor is having major marital problems with Jahnvi who happens to be his wife. She suspects him of having an affair and gradually finds comfort in the arms of Aryan who first impresses her with his working skills. The problem arises when the lonely Aryan actually falls deeply for her, while she realizes that her hubby was actually planning a surprise for her and not cheating on her.Image Hosted by ImageTitan.comImage Hosted by ImageTitan.com

Since there have been many films like ‘Aggar’ in the past, a lot of things in the movie appear predictable and it doesn’t actually have anything new to offer. The only saving grace is the little twist in the story towards the end, which kind of startles one a bit. But then the treatment in the climax is very filmi again.

A lot of silly things also keep happening in the story –like Tusshar’s sudden sane behaviour right after walking out of the mental hospital, impressing Nauheed in a jiffy, and then landing up with a job, Udita embarking on an affair without even caring to have a proper chat with her husband and Tushhar never guessing the fact that Udita could be his doctor’s wife even after knowing that she is married, has the same surname, Merchant and her hubby’s name is Aditya . Looks like, too many cinematic liberties for the writers here!

Tusshar Kapoor does an Emraan Hashmi kind of a wayward, psychologically disturbed fiery lover boy role. Though he tries, it’s not a very impressive act and its better if Tusshar sticks to what he is best at-comic and simpleton characters. Shreyas Talpade experiments with this role of a suave calm doctor and it’s nice to see him do so. Udita Goswami’s styling is good in the movie but acting wise she has nothing new to offer. She kind of repeats what she did in ‘Zeher’ and ‘Aksar’. Nauheed Cyrusi looks pretty but comes across as quite wooden faced. Sophie Chaudhary who is there only in the initial reels doesn’t have much to offer. Vikas Kalantri has a blink, you miss it role. Looks like the director hired mainly to film a love making scene with Sophie! Saadhika too has very little to do.

Cinematography is fairly okay. Mithun’s music is average and it’s sad after the fairly good ‘The Train’ soundtrack, he delivers something of this sort. The last song of the movie (filmed on Tusshar) looks completely out of place.

Lara Dutta joins hands with MTV to battle human trafficking

A documentary 'SOLD', an MTV EXIT special, produced in English and Hindi will be telecast tomorrow on MTV. It has been produced in partnership with USAID, The United States Agency for International Development. The documentary gives an insight into the realities of trafficking, addresses the part that everyone plays in the issue, and provides information on how individuals can protect themselves against trafficking, as well as what everyone can do to help to end exploitation and trafficking.

Speaking to reporters here Lara Dutta, who is MTV EXIT South Asia's Ambassador for the campaign said, ''I am glad that I can use my status as an actress in the Indian Film Industry, an industry for which India is crazy about, to create awareness about another underground industry-human trafficking, which is becoming alarmingly bigger and more nefarious day-by-day.Lara DuttaImage Hosted by ImageTitan.comImage Hosted by ImageTitan.comImage Hosted by ImageTitan.comImage Hosted by ImageTitan.comImage Hosted by ImageTitan.com

''I am especially proud of 'SOLD', which is a true eye-opener and hope that we will spread the message to help anyone and everyone fight against the pervasiveness of human being trafficking for manual labour, domestic labour and prostitution,'' the gorgeous lady added. MTV India General Manager and Creative and Content Vice President Ashish Patil said, ''Each one of us is a key link in the human trafficking chain. Ameesha Patel filmed a romantic sequence with Shah Rukh Khan in ten minutes flat. Sandipan Dalal on the sights and sounds on the sets of the film

The sets of Om Shanti Omwere bustling with activity, and Ameesha Patel filmed a romantic sequence with Shah Rukh Khan in ten minutes flat. Sandipan Dalal on the sights and sounds on the sets of the film

I'm back doing what I like best, loitering around our filmy sets and take a peek into what goes on behind the scenes. The opportunity came knocking when Farah Khan agreed to have me over while filming special sequences featuring Shah Rukh Khan, and other guest appearances for Om Shanti Om. So on Tuesday evening all roads lead to Film City at Goregaon (East)…Image Hosted by ImageTitan.com Image Hosted by ImageTitan.com

Film sets are not exactly the most desirable place to be; Spilling with activity — carpenters working on wooden structures, technicians carrying their paraphernalia and make-up artists scurrying around with their MAC kits. I introduce myself to the beefy security personnel manning the 'restricted area'. "I have come to meet Farah," I assure him. He relays the message on his walkie-talkie and I'm taken to a comfy vanity van. An exasperated Farah Khan, dressed in black to cover her growing bump, is waiting for her buddy Shah Rukh Khan to report to the sets. We chat about her first baby (Om Shanti Om, of course) over cups of piping chai and ragda pattice. She informs that the sequence for the day will see Shah Rukh pairing with Dia Mirza and Ameesha Patel. "Dia and Ameesha are the only actresses who didn't make it for the 30-actor song. They are already here and draping sarees," she says. Minutes later, Manish Malhotra appears after ensuring that his chiffon sarees and blouses have been delivered to the actresses' vans. Soon, Shah Rukh vrooms into the sets and after exchanging bear hugs with Farah he heads straight to his van to slip into his outfits. In between, he splashes water on his long mane. He soon emerges sporting a polo-neck tee. Before rushing to face the camera he doesn't forget to greet a few crew members. In a matter of ten minutes, he has shot a sequence with a chiffonclad Ameesha.

Finally, I come face-to-face with King Khan. A warm smile and firm handshake follows. He promises to come back after a 'quick change'. He is back and this time around he is sporting a black singlet. Well, the rippling muscles have been toned further. "The lavish songs have been shot but he continues to workout with a vengeance," informs an executive producer. He asks for some coffee and we start talking. During our conversation he takes a passing glance at one of the Chak De trailers. The film has turned out to be a boxoffice success. But when have hugely successful films tired him?

It's not very often that you get to see other popular Bollywood stars flocking to greet King Khan. Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra (both were sporting hair bands) who are filming next door for Drona drop in. Later, they are joined by director Shaad Ali (visibly leaner and the facial hair are gone). And Bollywood continues to bond…
